14 Years!!!

Happy Anniversary to the love of my life!

Things we've learned over the past 14 years....

Everything is always better with your best friend
Don't sweat the small stuff (constantly working on that one)
Communication is KEY!
Patience is a must!
Having kids is one of life's greatest blessings
You don't have to be perfect, just give it your best shot
Tomorrow is another day
Remember you married your best friend, be sure to treat each other that way.
Remember to say thanks
Marriage is a journey, not a destination
Love and Appreciation have stages that we didn't know existed
It's not easy... it takes work and commitment
Life is so much happier when the cup is half full! Ü

Happy Anniversary. I'm so grateful for all the adventures the past 14 years have brought us! Can't wait for the next 70!!!

Operation Baking Gals

My heart is full as I type this new post. I admit, I was feeling super patriotic on Tuesday then on Wednesday I kind of struggled. I'm so thankful I had this great experience to feel patriotic and give of myself. I needed to serve... and how often do we actually express our gratitude to our armed forces? I have to thank my absolutely wonderful cousin, Leslie, for sharing this experience with me and encouraging me to join with her! I have had such a great time and can't wait for my next opportunity to say THANKS to some of our military men and women serving overseas. Hopefully many of you will join us!

You see, my cousin recently got involved in an organization called Operation Baking Gals. Baking GALS (GALS stands for Give A Little Support) is a group of volunteer bakers who bake and ship homemade goodies to our heroic troops that are currently deployed. Each soldier is “Hosted” by a blogger, and potential bakers are “recruited” from the bloggers own site as well as the GALS site. Each Host recruits between 20-25 bakers, meaning LOTS of goodies get delivered to our soldier…so many, in fact that he or she has plenty to share with their fellow troops! Our team is FabFour - PLEASE join us for the next round. You will not regret it!!!
We had a great time packaging up our cards, pictures, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and brownies! Hopefully they arrive fresh and whole and put some smiles on our service men and women!

Proud to be an American

Yay for me!!! I just ventured out in the rain and 40 degree weather with my two little ones to cast my vote. I'm feeling good and quite proud of myself! Have you voted yet? If not, GO!!!! Don't let the crummy weather and long lines get you down! Get out there and cast your vote!

A Knight, A pink butterfly and a Bee

Halloween 2008 had to be the best one yet! Not only was it one of the first times in Joseph's life that his health has been such that we were able to trick-or-treat until we got tired, but the weather was wonderful!!! I'm guessing the temps were in the mid/upper 60's with just a sprinkle of rain here and there. Here are some pics!

As you might notice, we had a hard time getting a happy picture of Jackson in his costume... so here is what he was like earlier in the day!!! Ü
