Spring Break

Whew! Spring Break 2008! As I sit back and think about the past 4 days all I can say is "WHEW!" That was CRAZY! We went NON-STOP! We were completely changed the kids rooms (pictures to come) getting the kids new bunk beads. On Thursday we had a great time at the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point - here the kids are saying "ROAR" with the little Triceratops. Afterwards we spent some time shopping for organization supplies at Ikea. Afterwards, The Mayan. The kids love watching the divers and Joseph has added "be a diver" onto his list of things he wants to be when he grows up.

Friday we went to the Aquarium where Joseph, yet again, was very unsure about this whole "petting the stingray" idea. Mahlia had no problem sticking her hand right in and feeling their slimy body glide right under her hand. Joseph's favorites were the jellyfish (Mommy's favorite too!) and the sharks. Mahlia loved the seahorses and the nemo fish. Jackson slept in the backpack - so his favorite was getting a nice long nap! Dad loved "petting" the starfish, sea cucumber and stingrays.

Jackson was such a trooper and had a great time being out and about on a family adventure. He's such a cutie pie and we just love him so much. Thanks baby Jackson for being such a good sport! Ü

Springtime in Utah

I am so thankful for the sunshine we are experiencing! For the past two days, the weather has been simply splendid! Yesterday we went for a nice Sunday afternoon walk and Joseph even started complaining about being "sooo hot and thirsty". Thank you spring! We love you!!!!

This week we will enjoy some time as a family as Joseph is out of school for spring break. Maybe a trip to the Zoo? Dinosaur Museum? Aquarium? Who knows, all I can say is that today the sun is shining and my temperature gauge was reading 72 degrees. John even went for a run up Provo canyon on his lunch break. But, we are prepared as the weather man is saying possible rain/snow showers tomorrow or Wednesday... you never know how to dress during Springtime in Utah. As for today, "it's gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day!"

Jeeping in Moab

WOW! What can I say - I've never been jeeping like this before! We have a newfound respect for jeeps as we had the opportunity to experience what jeeps are truely made for. Thank you to Bryant and Betsty for inviting us to go to Moab with their cute family. What an adventure! We ended up jeeping on Hells Revenge see pic's and descriptions here and here. Now, don't freak out when you see the pictures. John handled the drive like he'd been doing it for years. (partly because we had rented our jeep and didn't want to end up purchasing the jeep that day!) Mahlia and Jackson laughed and laughed - they thought they were in Disneyland. Joseph was not as excited about the adventure, but he warmed up to it and now says he can't wait to go to Moab with Bryant and Betsy again. Leave it to the Aznar's to have their first jeeping experiences on a 4+ rated trail!!!!
P.S. the picture of the silver FJCruiser was not us! John went on that trail, but he rode with Bryant while the kids and I played in the sand...

Arches!

We had the opportunity to go to Moab this past weekend and we had the most wonderful time. It was so great to visit Arches National Park - it's been a LONG time since I've been there.... and John had never been! We didn't have a lot of time, but took full advantage of the time we did have. There is something to be said of this beautiful place. If you have never been - you must!!! Whether you have time to spend a few days or just a few hours - it's defintely worth going. We can hardly wait to go back! Here are just a few pic's from our hikes. Joseph's classic quote of the day, "Mom! Look at the huge hole in that rock!" awesome. That was after about 15 minutes of whining when mom turned off the DVD and implimented the "no watching movies in National Park's" rule. mean mommy! Ü

Are you "Hangin' Tough"?

John is going to give me a major "eye roll" when he reads this.... but I just have to say... NKOTB are coming back! Can you believe it? Click here to hear their music from back in the day... According to KSL, the NKOTB will be on the Today show tomorrow morning and will be releasing a new album and going on tour! Hilarious!!! What a blast from the past. How embarassing that I ever loved them... (Jonathan especially), but, ahem, anyone interested in going to a concert with me???
